Restraining Order Violation
McClurg Ln., CCSO release – On 08/09/2018, at approximately 7:02 pm, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a restraining order violation. Deputies responded to 93981 McClurg Lane, North Bend, Oregon. Upon their arrival the deputies were told of mail which had been sent to the address. The mail was sent from 55-year old Barbara Carrillo, Coos Bay. Deputies were told by the complainant of a restraining order between themselves and Barbara. The mail was in direct violation of the restraining order that was in place. Deputies went to Barbara’s address, located at 924 Garfield, Coos Bay, Oregon. While there the Deputies spoke with Barbara who confirmed the mailing of the letter. Barbara was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail. Barbara was held on a bail of $7500.00 for the violation of the restraining order.

Assault
Hwy. 42, CCSO release – On August 11, 2018 at approximately 12:18 pm, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Milepost 19.5 on Highway 42 for a report of an assault. The victim, Joseph Norris, told Deputies he was staying in a trail,er of a friend and 38-year old Matthew Anglin, Coquille, was there as a guest. The two had gone to bed about 3:30 am and Norris said he woke at 12:10 pm to Matthew Anglin punching him in his head. Norris described the location of his trailer up a gravel road off of the highway. Deputies responded to the trailer and located Anglin at the trailer. After an investigation into the incident Anglin was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail for one count of Assault IV and held in lieu of $10,000 bail. At this time it is unknown what the motivation for the assault was for.

Strangulation
Bunker Hill, CCSO release – On 08-14-18 at approximately 4:00 pm, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies and Coos Bay Police Officers responded to the Bunker Hill 7-1-1. A report of some sort of disturbance had been made. During this investigation Deputies determined that a customer of the convenience store, Nehemiah Statzer, had attacked a female employee of the 7-11, grabbing her by the hair and throat. The employee did not suffer any injuries. The attack occurred in the back office area of the store where Statzer had followed the woman employee. The employee had her hair pulled and was physically manhandled over a sink. Statzer had left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement, but was later contacted at his place of employment at Georgia Pacific. Statzeer was taken into custody without incident, for Strangulation, Harassment, and transported to the Coos County Jail. Statzer remains in custody on $35,000 bail. The incident remains under investigation of possible further charges.

K-9 Track
Cape Arago Hwy., CCSO release – On August 9th 2018 a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling in the area of Cape Arago Hwy and Henderson Lane. While the Deputy was in the area he observed Devin J. Wilson 29 yoa of Coos Bay, whom the Deputy knew had valid warrants for his arrest. When Mr. Wilson noticed the Deputy he immediately began to run away from him and into a residence at 91472 Cape Arago Hwy. Mr. Wilson then ran out the back of the residence while failing to stop when instructed to do so. Coos County K-9 Odin was called to the scene and conducted a criminal apprehension K-9 track. K-9 Odin tracked for approximately 600 yards and located Mr. Wilson outside, on the property at 63719 S. Barview Road. Mr. Wilson was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Wilson was transported to the Coos County Jail on the outstanding warrants. This apprehension marks K-9 Odin’s 71st capture as a patrol K-9 with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.
