The Marine Board is funded by registration fees and marine fuel taxes paid by boaters. These fees are then used to service boaters with law enforcement, safety education, and boating facilities access to Oregon’s waterways. Grants approved: Port of Brookings, Chetco River, Parking area refurbishment, $590,400; Port of St. Helens, Scappoose Bay, Scappoose Marina dredging, $491,973; Lincoln County, Alsea River, Property acquisition, $331,000; Jackson County, Howard Prairie Reservoir, Willow Point ramp extension, $69,687; Polk County, Willamette River, Buena Vista parking and restroom, $200,000; Metro, Columbia River, Chinook Landing float replacement, $451,800; OYCC, Multiple Minor improvements at multiple access sites, $115,738; Douglas County, Umpqua River, River Forks ramp repairs, $45,000; Port of Bandon, Coquille River, Bandon parking expansion, $25,000; Forest Service – HCNRA, Snake River, Hells Canyon Launch design & engineering, $122,500; Malheur County, Owyhee Reservoir, Dam Ramp reconstruction, $451,500; Oregon City, Clackamas River, Hydrographic and site analysis, $60,000; City of Umatilla, Columbia River, Pumpout/dump station replacement, $37,000.
