ODFW to host public meetings on commercial nearshore fishery, Sept. 13

ODFW will discuss the commercial black and blue rockfish and nearshore fisheries at three public meetings in Pacific City, Port Orford and Brookings in mid-September. Geared primarily to commercial fishers with black and blue rockfish and nearshore permits, the agenda for the meetings will include: Pacific Fishery Management Council update including state harvest specifications for 2019–20 for: black rockfish; lingcod; yelloweye rockfish; blue/deacon rockfish; Review of the 2018 season to date; Process and options for setting 2019 regulations; Update on ODFW fishery independent surveys; Input from industry and others interested in 2019 commercial nearshore fishery state management.  All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held: Thursday, Sept. 13, Kiawanda Community Center, 34600 Cape Kiwanda Drive, Pacific City; Monday, Sept. 17, Port Orford Library, 1421 Oregon St., Port Orford; Tuesday, Sept. 18, Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder Street, Brookings.
