Quakes, Oct. 2

A 2.6-magnitude earthquake shook the southern junction of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast early Tuesday morning, Oct. 2.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located West to Northwest of Petrolia, CA at Cape Mendocino.  Just inland from that site, a 2.5-magnitude quake was also recorded South to Southeast of Somes Bar, CA.  On Sunday, Sept. 30, a 3.0-magnitude quake was recorded just south of Brookings near the California border.
