Workshop Explores Navigating Privilege and Power in a New World, Oct. 2

SWOCC release – COOS BAY, Ore. – The community group We All Belong Here and Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee invite community members to a workshop to explore social identities as they intersect with structures of privilege and power. The workshop is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Monday Oct. 8, in Empire Hall, Room Lakeview G, 1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay. “In Uncharted Seas: Navigating Privilege and Power in a New World” is designed to help people better understand the multifaceted dimensions of social identity and how our identities shape our relationships and experiences in the world. Through interactive activities in a safe and supportive space, the workshop aims to help participants develop greater awareness of themselves and each other, and to engage in meaningful dialogue and practice around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
