All restrictions to Raw Sewage Spill lifted in NB, Oct. 17

City of North Bend release – On October 9th, 2018 a mechanical failure at lift station #2 resulting in sewage being discharged into Coos Bay. The lift station was quickly returned to service and testing of the surrounding waters were started. A series of testing was initiated. With the tidal influences the spill was quickly diluted and flushed out with the tidal changes. Numerous days of testing resulting in continued low counts in the bay. The Dept. of Environmental lifted all restriction. Any questions about concerns of this event may be directed to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
