Marshfield’s basketball teams opened the 2018/19 prep season with a couple of wins. The Lady Pirates downed visiting Newport Friday 43-22, and then beat visiting Salem Academy on Saturday 47-27. Marshfield (2-0) will host Hidden Valley Saturday. The Pirate boys beat visiting Salem Academy 68-51. Marshfield (1-0) hosts two-time defending state champion Seaside Friday.
