Voter turnout in Coos County for Tuesday’s Primary Election in Oregon was 36.58%. Out of the 33,180 registered voters in the county, 12,136 returned their mail in ballots. In the race for Position No. 2 on the Board of Commissioners, challenger Don Gurney edged incumbent John W. Sweet 42.50% (4,770) to 41.13% (4,616). For Position No. 3, incumbent Melissa Cribbins 52.50% (5,890) had the majority. For Position No. 6 on the 15th District Circuit Court Judge, Cynthia L. Beaman 65.69% (6,541) of the vote to Shala McKenzie Kudlac with 33.92% (3,378).
