Oregon State Police (OSP) arrested a 53-year old Wolf Creek man following a stabbing during a disturbance Wednesday night in the Cave Junction area. The victim is being treated for serious, non-life threatening injuries. According to Sergeant Jeff Fitzgerald, on May 21, 2014 at approximately 8:46 p.m., OSP troopers and medical personnel were dispatched to a report of a stabbing in the 2600 block of Chapman Creek Road east of Cave Junction. ABRAHAM P. HOSMER, age 41, a resident at 2612A Chapman Creek Road, received serious injury stab wounds to his abdomen. HOSMER was transported initially to Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass and then transferred to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford for treatment. Initial investigation involving OSP Patrol Services Division troopers and Criminal Investigations Division detectives indicates a disturbance developed in the presence of several area residents and visitors related to loud music from a vehicle. During the initial verbal dispute, a fight occurred during which HOSMER was stabbed more than once in the abdomen by SECUNDINO BAEZ, age 53, from Wolf Creek. BAEZ was taken into custody by OSP and lodged in the Josephine County Jail for Assault in the First Degree and Unlawful Use/Carrying of a Dangerous Weapon.
