The Oregon State baseball team will host the Corvallis Regional next weekend, the NCAA announced on Sunday when it released the 16 host sites for the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  The Beavers are hosting an NCAA Regional for the fifth time in school history, and have gone a combined 12-0 in 2005, 2006, 2011 and 2013. Oregon State advanced to the 2014 postseason by winning the Pac-12 Conference with a 23-7 league record.  Oregon State will find out if it has been deemed a national seed on Monday at 9 a.m. on ESPNU. The selection show will also release the entire field of 64.

The top-ranked Oregon State baseball team dropped a 3-1 decision to USC Sunday at Dedeaux Field.  The game marked the regular season finale for both clubs. Oregon State ended it with a 42-12 overall record and 23-7 mark in Pac-12 Conference play. USC, meanwhile, ended it with a 29-24 overall mark and 16-14 record against league foes.

Oregon rallied but couldn’t overcome a five-run deficit against California as the Golden Bears claimed the series against the Ducks (42-18, 18-12 Pac-12) with a 5-3 Pac-12 Conference win on Saturday at PK Park.  The Bears (26-27, 13-17 Pac-12) scored four runs in the second inning off Oregon starter Brando Tessar and then added a run in the fifth to push the lead to 5-0. Vince Bruno came through with the big hit in the second picking up a two-run single to chase Tessar (4-2).  Oregon will find out what NCAA Regional site it will play at on Monday morning when ESPNU televises the selection show at 9 a.m.

Oregon softball beat the Minnesota Gophers 6-2 in an NCAA Super Regional Game Sunday in Eugene and will open Women’s College World Series play Thursday against Florida State in Oklahoma City.  Oregon (54-7-1) tied the school record for wins in a season, and advanced to the WCWS for the second time in three years.
