Coos Bay City Council Vacancy, May 28

On May 20, 2014 long time Coos Bay Councilor John Muenchrath tendered his resignation from his position on the Coos Bay City Council due to “professional changes, I am going to be leaving the area for a while.” “I want to thank the community for allowing me the opportunity to work with the Mayor and the Council and serve the community.”  In an effort to fill the open position, the City Council will be accepting Letters of Interest for consideration of appointment to the vacant position.  To qualify, the applicant must be a registered voter, must have resided within the Coos Bay City limits for a least one year, and must not be a City employee.  The Letter of Interest should include a City of Coos Bay Applicant Information Form, a brief summary of the work and community experience, education of the applicant, and reason for interest in being appointed.  An attached resume is acceptable.  The Applicant Information Form will be located on the City’s website.  Letters of Interest will be accepted in the City Manager’s Office until 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014.  For your convenience, if you wish to e-mail your Letter of Interest, you may e-mail it to jmickelson@coosbay.org   Interviews will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd, and applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview with the City Council.  For more information, contact City Manager Rodger Craddock at 541-269-8912.
