North Bend opened the 2019 prep track season at the Siuslaw Icebreaker Meet in Florence Thursday. No team scores were kept, but the Bulldogs definitely dominated the five-team competition. Senior Jonathan Chilcote won both the 100 (11.06), 200 (22.87) & anchored the winning 4X100 Relay (44.79) with Divenson Willis, Jake Posey & Coel Stark while classmate Teron Catanzaro won both the Long Jump (20-00.25), Triple Jump (42-01) and took first in the 110HH (16.47). Junior Chelsea Howard lead the Bulldog girls with wins in the 100 (12.79), Long Jump (17-00.50) & Triple Jump (34-08.50). Senior Ty Hampton won the boy’s Javelin with a throw of 198-11. All three of his attempts were in the 198-00 range. North Bend next competes at April 2nd at the 111th Annual Coos Co. Meet at Marshfield.
