Marshfield pushed District 4 4A baseball leader Elmira to extra innings before falling 3-2 at the Falcons field west of Eugene Tuesday. The Pirates (1-3, 4-7) came from behind to tie the game at 2 in the seventh. However, Elmira (3-0, 9-2) got a run in from third on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to win the game. Marshfield hosts Junction City Friday (3&5p). North Bend fell at Thurston 14-4 in a 5A Midwestern League game in eastern Springfield. The Bulldogs (5-3, 8-6) are at Churchill on April 23.
