A 4.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded west of Bandon off the South Oregon Coast Saturday, May 18. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was on the outer fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast within the Cascadia Subduction Zone. It did not produce a tsunami wave. A 2.9-magnitude quake was recorded at the southern end of the two fault lines early Monday morning, west to southwest of Ferndale, CA. There was also a 3.6-magnitude quake recorded on land on the Central Oregon Coast Sunday, east to southeast of Rose Lodge in Lincoln County.
