News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On June 6, 2014 Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched on a report of an intoxicated male subject walking in the middle of Hwy 34 near mile post 2.7. The caller advised the subject, later identified as Brent Bilyeu, 57 years, of Waldport, was screaming while swinging a knife in the air. The caller reported one car almost hit Bilyeu while others were trying to go around him. US Forest Service LEO Cody Martin was in the area, located Bilyeu and detained him until the sheriff’s office arrived. After Bilyeu was medically cleared he was transported to the Lincoln County jail and lodged for Disorderly Conduct in the second degree. His bail was set at $10,000.
