Probation Violation, July 9

Newmark Ave., CCSO release – On July 7, 2019, at approximately 12:24 AM, A Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a male subject doing pushups and one-handed cartwheels in the middle of the roadway on the corner of Newmark Avenue and South Empire Boulevard, Coos Bay, Coos County, Oregon. The man approached the Deputy’s patrol vehicle and began engaging in small talk. The man identified himself as 31 year old Thomas A. Sears of Coos Bay. The Deputy inquired about the welfare of Thomas. Thomas informed the Deputy he was high on methamphetamines and had drank of a couple of beers. The Deputy ran a records check through Dispatch with the information provided by Thomas and was informed 31-year-old Thomas Sears was a probation client with stipulations of no drugs or alcohol use. The Deputy contacted an on-call probation officer who placed a detainer on Thomas. Subsequently, Thomas A. Sears, was arrested on a probation violation and transported to the Coos County Jail without further incident.
