Oregon Public Safety Academy Graduation, June 13

The Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) is pleased to announce the graduation of its 343rd Basic Police Class. Chief Jay Waterbury of the City of The Dalles Police Department and Past-President of the Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police will be the guest speaker.  The Basic Police Class is 16-weeks in length and includes dozens of training areas including survival skills, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, ethics, cultural diversity, problem solving, elder abuse, drug recognition, and many other subjects.  What: Basic Police 343 Graduation; When: June 13, 2014; Where: Oregon Public Safety Academy / 4190 Aumsville Hwy SE, Salem, Oregon; Time: 11:00 a.m.  All family and friends of students, supervisors, department heads and city and county officials are welcome to attend.  Any questions please call Kristy Witherell at DPSST (503) 378-2386 or e-mail her at kristy.witherell@state.or.us  Graduates from the Oregon Coast include:  Deputy Nathen Baldwin, Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office; Officer Jonathan Humphreys, Newport Police Department; Deputy Chase Ross, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office; Officer Robert Wirt, Warrenton Police Department.
