This local news brief is brought to you by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport www.flyoth.com with air service from North Bend to San Francisco.

Good Monday morning to you!  Hope you had a great weekend.  New week, final week of August, headed for the Labor Day weekend, start of collegiate football, start of high school sports with jamborees, and plenty of sunshine.  Highs in the 70s this week, but breezy.  Out of the North at 20-30 mph during the day, and calming down to 5-10 mph at night with lows in the mid 50s.  Sounds like we are headed for a South Coast Fall!  In our news, just about as quick as they posted the warnings, water advisories were lifted on the Central Coast.  North Bend City Council has a work session today and on the agenda discussion about meeting with neighboring councils to talk about “Mutual Interests.”  Okay, home movie time at SWOCC tonight.  This should actually be fun, talk about studying abroad!  ODFW has been stocking some ponds, streams for a fishing weekend.  Wow, the boats were in the Bay over the weekend.  Great article from Guy Tauer on Education and Jobs on the South Coast.  USCG rescues 10-year old boy in Washington St.  Motorcycle serious injuries on Hwy. 26 & Hwy.22.  He’s looking at a DUII charge and he crashed into an attorney’s office in Empire.  On the NBPD logs, some warrant arrests, harassment & trespassing, but someone also broke out the four lights in Grant Square.  Look for a restless sleeper who doesn’t like lights.  Well, maybe.  Stupid vandalism.  In sports, the Prefontaine Run is close.  Epuerto soccer for youth too.  SWOCC sports got a start over the weekend.  Volleyball team found some success in Springfield.  Rough road trip for the soccer teams.  Countdown is underway for the Beavers and Ducks football teams this weekend.  And, OSU & UO women’s soccer teams opened the 2019 season.  Seahawks got another preseason NFL win.  One more game to go before the regular season unfolds.  Have a great week and as always, thank you for your support.  Matt
