Jordan Cove, Aug. 27

Jordan Cove release – Opportunity to help move Jordan Cove Forward! Please attend the Coos Bay City Council Hearing on Tuesday! On Tuesday, August 27, at 6:00 p.m. the Coos Bay City Council will receive a presentation on the proposed dredging required for the terminal. They will then hold a public hearing to receive comments on our land use application related to the dredging work. We need supporters to attend the public hearing, speak briefly to the City Council about focusing on the scope of the permit and the benefits of the Project and to urge their approval of the permits. You don’t need to be an expert, here’s how to help: Attend the testimony writing workshop: Join us from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Jordan Cove Office for snacks and a testimony writing workshop. Attend the hearing: We’ll go together from the workshop to the hearing at the Coos Bay City Council (just down the street) and to sign in, provide project support, and testify. Supporters can also meet us there. Submit written testimony: If you cannot attend the hearing, written testimony can be submitted by email to jmickelson@coosbay.org. Please cc action@jordancovelng.com. Bring friends and family: Opponents have made it clear they’re focused on this hearing. There is strength and a statement in numbers, let’s make a statement! When: Letter Writing Workshop: August 27, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Public Hearing: August 27, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. Supporters are encouraged to stay until they are able to testify.
