Coos-Curry County Farm Bureau proudly awarded two students a $1,500 college scholarship each for the 2019-20 school year. Congratulations to this year’s recipients Cole Smith of Coos Bay and Hunter Grove of Myrtle Point. Smith attended Southwestern Oregon Community College, where he earned an Associates of Science Degree with a Forestry Emphasis. He has transferred to Oregon State University in Corvallis, where he will pursue a degree in Forest Management. Smith plans to use his education “to better help protect and properly manage local forestlands for future generations.” Grove (left in photo) graduated from Myrtle Point High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She served as FFA president and 4-H president, and graduated with an impressive array of FFA and 4-H projects: dairy cow, swine, dairy goat, and lamb. Hunter will attend Oregon State University in the fall, majoring in Biology. Coos-Curry County Farm Bureau is proud to support these two young people with their college education. .
