Good Friday morning to you. Another “Weekend in the West” is upon us and sounds like we have some clouds and sunshine. Highs near 70 and overnight lows in the mid 50s. Winds, not bad, out of the North at 10-20 mph. It is Friday the 13th. Scary? Not really any more. Only thing I remember is the local movie theater would always show a doubleheader or even a triple with “scary” movies. Well, Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and a few of those other good old monsters, could put a little fright in you. Just not like today’s puppets packing chainsaws. Well, good luck today! In our news, Child Safety Seat Clinic at Coos Bay Fire Hall on Elrod. Recycling & reusing plastics at CBPL tomorrow. Volunteer Church Service Projects in the Bay Area on Saturday. Film Noir Sunday at CBPL. New boat ramp, 10-years in the making, at Pine Hollow Reservoir. Fatal accidents, three of them to report, one in Southern Oregon (at the Rogue River) and two in Eastern Oregon. CBPL has a report on DUII enforcement in August. Prep sports schedules for the weekend for both MHS & NBHS. Big VB matches at MHS Saturday beginning at 11a.m. Still time to signup for next week’s Prefontaine Run. SWOCC volleyball in the Evergreen State for a Crossover Tournament. OSU soccer teams pickup road wins. Pac-12 VB has both Oregon & Oregon State out of state this weekend. Beaver & Duck football at home Saturday. Hey, doubleheader if you can pull it off. OSU at 1 p.m. in Corvallis and UO at 7:45 p.m. in Eugene. Or, just watch them on the Pac-12 Networks. Seahawks have an early morning time slot at Pittsburgh Sunday. Have a great weekend and thank you for your support. Matt
