Homicide Investigation in Southern Oregon, Nov. 7

Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigations Division (CID) detectives with the assistance of the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office, Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, and Josephine County Parole & Probation, have been investigating the homicide of a 39-year old man in Cave Junction. The man’s body was discovered Tuesday night lying in a street. As the investigation progressed during the day, detectives took a person of interest into custody on charges unrelated to the homicide investigation.  According to Sergeant Jeff Fitzgerald, on November 5, 2013, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a report was received of a man lying in the road in the 200 block of W. Millie Street in Cave Junction. Illinois Valley Fire District personnel responded and confirmed that there was a deceased adult male at the location who was later identified as AARON LEE CLOUSER, 39, from Cave Junction.  OSP troopers and detectives from OSP and Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to the scene to investigate. During the course of today’s investigation, a person of interest identified as MICHAEL CLYDE McDONALD, age 60, from Cave Junction, was taken into custody on two felony warrants for Probation Violation and Dangerous Drugs. McDONALD was lodged in the Josephine County Jail on the arrest warrant charges.  During the afternoon, investigators obtained a search warrant and executed it at 223 W. Millie Street.  Per Josephine County District Attorney’s Office, the cause of death is not being released at this time.
