This local news brief is brought to you by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport www.flyoth.com with air service from North Bend to San Francisco.

Good Tuesday morning.  A little shift in the weather as we head to some sunshine by tomorrow at least in the forecast. Highs shifting from the low 60s today to mid upper 60s by Wednesday.  Winds out of the South to Southwest, 10-15 mph.  Clouds today with a chance of a shower or two somewhere.  City of Coos Bay says it is reopening Birch St. temporarily.  That’s good news to the businesses in that area. Yesterday morning, between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., the sea floor within the Gorda Ridge rumbled again.  It is that outer fault line that remains active.  They will discuss parking on the streets of Empire when the Coos Bay City Council and URA meets tonight.  Also on the agenda is that touchy subject along the Oregon Coast, “Vacation Rentals.”  Yachats and Lincoln City have already been wrestling with the growing “use my house for a vacation rental” surge.  Cannon Beach and Seaside are also involved in trying to control the changing of neighborhoods.  Operating food trucks in North Bend on the City Council’s agenda for tonight.  After Hours Fund-Raiser coming to CBPL.  Oregon Trails Advisory Committee in Bend today.  State Land Board in Salem today.  Coast Guard searching for an overdue Sailor in Washington State. Van fire on Central Coast last week.  Buck wasted in Camas Valley.  They only took the head!  CCSO reports two fighting males on Roosevelt Rd.  They knew he was intoxicated and when he got behind the wheel of a vehicle, well a DUII charge was not that far behind on the Cape Arago Hwy.  Domestic harassment on the Cape Arago Hwy.  Trespassing charge in North Bend.  Stolen vehicle from Eugene recovered in North Bend.  In sports, prep schedules for both NBHS & MHS for the rest of the week.  Prep volleyball and soccer on the schedules for today as the Fall Sports season winds down.  Have a great Tuesday and thank you for reading.  Matt
