Travelers using Interstate 5 southbound north of the Woodburn Interchange (milepost 274) should expect evening delays continuing into this week. Crews will be repairing the road after it was damaged following a crash involving two semi trailers on October 15 that started two truck fires and spilled several hundred gallons of diesel fuel. Southbound lanes of I-5 were closed for 12 hours. The work is scheduled as follows: Thursday, October 24: a single lane closed to remove contaminated soil; Monday, October 28: two lanes closed for grinding and paving; and Tuesday, October 29: two lanes closed for striping and installing rumble strips. All work is scheduled between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Travelers should expect delays.
