This local news brief is brought to you by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport www.flyoth.com with air service from North Bend to San Francisco.

Good Monday morning.  Hope you had a great “Weekend in the West.”  We are headed towards the 11th month of this New Year already.  Wow!  Halloween this week.  All the Christmas Shopping stuff begins.  Thanksgiving is in there somewhere.  Feels and looks like Fall.  Lots of colors going up the rivers of the Coast.  Great time of year!  Weather forecasters call for sunshine and clear skies.  That’s great, but highs in the upper 50s and lows in the upper 30s.  Brrrrrr.  Some wind, but not much.  In our news, a whole lot of shaking going on in Big Blue over the weekend and it was off our South Coast.  We’ve got the latest on the Flu in Oregon.  Also, measles outbreak and health officials are chasing down the exposure possibilities.  Natural Gas prices are going up in Oregon, just in time for Winter, what a coincidence.  The painters have shutdown for the Winter on the McCullough Bridge.  Another state honor for Reedsport, this time it’s their boating facilities.  We have the petition for a reduction in Public Safety Fees in North Bend.  Community Bank Recognition Week in Oregon.  If you are traveling north on I-5 at night, be ready for some delays around Woodburn.   Police logs are full of warrant arrests, but also theft, probation violators, trespassers, DUII and more.  In sports, short schedules this week for both MHS & NBHS.  Prep football scores from the weekend.  Playoff time for the local teams.  SWOCC VB gets a split and men’s soccer qualifies for post season play.  Pac-12 results for the Ducks and Beavers.  Football did well, volleyball not as well in the desert, and soccer teams get a split in the desert.  Seahawks nab an NFL win at Atlanta.  Good start to these final days of October.  Stay warm and have a good day.  Thank you for reading.         Matt
