Marshfield’s boys won a three-way swim meet at the Mingus Park Pool in Coos Bay on Friday. The Pirates tallied 255-points, to Ashland with 104 and Crater with 80. Robert Kliewer and Aaron Hutchins led the way. The two combined with Jack Waddington and Zach Randle to win the 200 Medley Relay (1:57.66). Kliewer then went on to win the 100 Fly (1:05.67), 100 Backstroke (1:10.49), and swam a leg on the winning 200 Free Relay with Hutchins, Waddington and Randle (1:45.23). Hutchins took the 500 Free (6:00.33), and 100 Breast (1:14.58). Randle won the 200 IM (2:25.70). On the girl’s side, Marshfield won with 254-points, to AHS with 121 and CHS 82. Kady Cooley led the Lady Pirates. The senior won the 200 Free (2:16.26) and the 100 Fly (1:11.54). She also swam legs on the winning 200 Medley Relay with Paige Kirchner, Isabelle Hale & Mira Matthews (2:10.65), and the 400 Free Relay with Waddington, Matthews & Kirchner (4:19.74). Kirchner also won the 200IM (2:39.35) and was second in the 100 Back (1:09.23).
