Lakeside, CCSO release – On December 14, 2019, at approximately 3:08 P.M., Coos County Deputies were made aware of a robbery that had just occurred at 200 S 8th Street in Lakeside (McKay’s Market). The victim (name withheld) was threatened with a knife when he confronted a customer for shoplifting. The victim was in fear of his life when the unknown suspect told him he was going to “stick him” with the knife as the suspect cocked his hand back and raised the knife. Seeing the weapon, the victim separated himself from the suspect and called 911. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in identifying the individual whose photo is attached. The investigation is being led by Deputy Jon Vinyard. Update: Narrative: Within five hours of asking for the public’s assistance, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received more than a dozen anonymous phone calls, who all identified the same individual responsible for the Robbery in Lakeside over the weekend. Deputies were informed that 27 year old Seanpatrick G. Maloney was taken to a residence on Broadway Ave. in North Bend. North Bend Police detectives located Maloney exiting the residence, and noted he matched the description and clothing description given. Maloney was contacted and detained approximately two blocks away by Officers of the Confederated Tribes, where he was briefly questioned. Incident to arrest, Maloney was found with a weapon that matched the description of the weapon used in the Robbery. Deputies transported Maloney to the Coos County Jail without further incidence. Maloney will be charged with Robbery I, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing, Theft III and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all the citizens that were instrumental in the capture of a potentially dangerous suspect, as well as the Officers of the North Bend Police Department and the Confederated Tribes.
