The 17th Annual South Coast Holiday Basketball Tournament, co-sponsored this year by Les Schwab Tires and First Community Credit Union, was all Philomath. The Warriors’ boys & girl’s teams both took home the custom Myrtlewood trophies Saturday after winning the championship games at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay. The Philomath girls beat Astoria 51-50 on a last second foul-shot to win the title, while the Warrior boys held off a cold-shooting Marshfield team to win 46-35. North Bend’s boys lost the third-place game to a hot shooting Crook County team 61-38, while the Bulldog girls took the consolation bracket with a 48-39 win over Sisters. Marshfield’s girls lost the third-place game to league foe Junction City 19-18. The tournament is put on by the Marshfield Booster Club volunteers and the school’s Athletic Dept.
