Good Monday morning. Ready for the Holidays? Here we go for the next two weeks. I’ll be here doing what I normally do through the Holidays with local news, weather and sports. What I can find that is. Blustery weekend, well it began that way. Lots of high water marks throughout the Bay Area/County/Region. Detours downtown as well during high tide. Cold weather. Highs and lows in the 40s to kick off this week. Some sun, but some clouds. Holiday Tournament wrapped up Saturday at Marshfield. Attendance was not bad and there was some pretty good basketball played. Thanks to the Marshfield Booster Club for putting it on. In our news, here comes the Commercial Dungeness Crab Season. It will officially begin this year Dec. 31st. Problem with ice, however. The icehouse in Charleston burned (seems like that has happened before) and that’s the ice the local fleet counts on to go to sea. The fire also resulted in ammonia in the air and brought out a Hazmat team response from CBFD. Everything is okay now, but still lacking ice. U.S. & Canadian Coast Guards got together to recognize an anniversary. We’ve got the latest on the Flu in Oregon. Fatal accident west of Sutherlin. Fatal in Southern Oregon. Meth bust on Central Coast. Update on the skeletal remains found in Douglas Co. They have an ID. Illegal harvesting of forest products lands a male in the Coos Co. Jail. NBPD logs show a person with no pants, a DUII and a VRO arrest. In sports, prep schedules for this week for both NBHS & MHS. Not much going on except a couple of basketball tournaments. Marshfield’s boys and girls are on the road the day after Christmas. Wow! Prep wrestling results from the GP Winter Kickoff. SWOCC basketball in Crossover tournaments over the weekend. Duck women win, OSU men lose, and UO men win. Seahawks bomb at home Sunday. Wishing you the best this Holiday Season. Don’t forget Shore Acres. I do miss the model trains. Have a good Monday and thank you for reading. Matt
