Marshfield’s basketball teams split tournament opening games with Washington schools Thursday in Astoria at the Vince Dulcich Christmas Tournament. The Pirates boys beat Mark Morris of Longview, WA 67-66. Marshfield (4-3) advances to the championship semi-final round to play Tillamook (3-4) Friday, 4:45 p.m. (KMHS 105.1 or www.kmhsonline.com). Marshfield’s girls, playing in the same tournament but at Warrenton HS, lost to Heritage (WA) 47-26. The Lady Pirates (1-7) will play Rainier (3-7) in the consolation semi-finals Friday at 9:45 a.m. (FM 105.1 & www.kmhsonline.com). Games will conclude on Saturday.
