Good Monday morning. Hopefully your final “Weekend in the West” for 2019 was a good one. Final days of 2019 this week and then we start all over again on Wednesday with the year 2020. Sounds impressive! Good time to remember 2019 and the events behind us. Start the week off with a report of a couple of earthquakes off the South Coast. Commercial crab season just around the corner, but the presoak is underway. We’ve got the latest on the flu in Oregon. Get ready for a plastic bag ban coming up in Oregon Jan. 1st. Pedestrian fatality in Coos Bay. USCG rescues duck hunters in the State of Washington. Ducks and geese wasted on North Coast. Deer wasted in Central Oregon. K9 arrest in Douglas Co. Standoff in Aurora. Disorderly in Bunker Hill. Police logs show warrant arrests, trespassing, & VRO. In sports, short prep schedules for this week. Marshfield’s boys capture a holiday tournament. Pirates girls win two-out-of-three. North Bend girls win, but Bulldog boys fall. SWOCC had the holidays off. Ducks and Beavers were in action. Final tune-ups before Pac-12 play begins. All four are looking good! Seattle comes up short against the 49ers and will have to go the Wildcard way in the NFL upcoming playoffs. Have a good Monday and thank you for reading. Please feel free to share with others. Matt
