Marshfield’s girls fell 43-28 at Junction City Friday night in a 4A District 4 opener for both teams. Joining the Tigers with first round wins were Marist Catholic and Cottage Grove. Marist Catholic beat visiting Elmira 49-20 and Cottage Grove downed visiting Siuslaw 63-31. Next Tuesday, Cottage Grove (1-0, 10-5) plays at Marshfield (0-1, 4-10), Marist Catholic (1-0, 6-6) goes to Siuslaw (0-1, 1-14) and Junction City (1-0, 7-8) visits Elmira (0-1, 2-12).
