Good Thursday morning. The last two afternoons have been great along the South Oregon Coast. Warm sunny weather, but we know Winter is not done with us yet. I still remember sitting at baseball or softball games in the rain, snow, sleet, and freezing weather, so I know it is not over. We will have some more sunshine today, but clouds headed our way according to the forecasters. Highs in the mid 50s and lows nipping back down to the 30s. More clouds on Friday. Wanted to mention went on pursuit of the Girl Scout Cookies Saturday, finally found them outside of Pony Village Mall in the cold. Bought some of those new lemon cookies, and they’re good! Nice to support the Scouts and see them out there working hard. Not in the Bay Area, but in Oregon, someone dropped a counterfeit $20 bill on them last weekend. That’s pretty low, taking money from the Girl Scouts. Our Police Beat has some of those individuals, wanted on warrants for not appearing in court, three arrested in a stolen vehicle on Broadway yesterday in Coos Bay, Sex Offender laying by the side of the road got a ride to Coquille for Failing to Register in this county. Topping our news was a couple of quakes. One off of Coos Bay and the other on the Southern End near Cape Mendocino. Board of Commissioners for the Coos Co. Airport District are meeting this morning at the Airport in North Bend. They are expected to act on authorizing $1.1 million in additional funding. USCG will hold an Open House in Bandon today. They will be at “The Barn” and talking about the MRASS sound system. Federal government announces funds for housing for Oregon’s tribes. Art Grant awards announced, but only two hit the Oregon Coast and they’re not here. Heavily armed team executes search warrant on Central Coast. In sports, prep schedules for both MHS & NBHS for the remainder of the week. Prep boy’s basketball poll only has one South Coast team this week. Marshfield’s basketball teams enter league playoffs. SWOCC basketball got a split in the valley yesterday. Pac-12 men’s basketball tonight and both are on the tube. Hope you have another great afternoon along the South Coast. Soak up those solar rays! Thank you for reading. Matt
