Saint Alphonsus Health System, which includes Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Ontario, will cut hours for some employees, reduce compensation for senior leaders, and furlough workers in response to financial losses due to COVID-19. EO Media Group, the parent company of the East Oregonian and 12 other newspapers across Oregon, laid off 47 employees due to COVID-19. Astoria Downtown Market will close. Coquille Tribal Council and the Confederated Tribes of Coos Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians Tribal council closed Three Rivers Casino locations in Coos Bay and Florence due to COVID-19. Timberline Lodge in Government Camp laid off 471 employees at its lodge and adjacent ski area due to COVID-19. Seven Feathers Casino Resort in Canyonville furloughed all but about 100 of its 637 workers due to COVID-19. Lane County Health and Human Services will open the Lane County Respite and Recovery Center at the former Veterans Affairs clinic in Eugene. It will house homeless people who are recovering from COVID-19 or are waiting for test results. Phoenix Inn Suites in Albany and Eugene laid off 13 and 21 workers respectively due to COVID-19.
