Coos County total payroll employment was unchanged in March. Private education and health services as well as local government education each added 30 jobs over the month. Offsetting those gains, losses were estimated in retail trade (-20) and professional and business services (-20). Over the year, there was also little change in total payroll employment, Losses were estimated in manufacturing (-100); transportation, warehousing and utilities (-60); professional and business services (-30); and leisure and hospitality (-20). Sectors with employment increase over the year included local government (+100); retail trade (+50); and construction (+30). Curry County total payroll employment also unchanged in March. A loss of 20 jobs in local government education was offset by small increases in other industries. Over the past year, total payroll employment increased by 100 jobs. Manufacturing added 50 jobs and local government employment also rose, up by 60 jobs. Losses of 20 jobs were estimated in information; professional and business services; and leisure and hospitality.
