Umpqua River Bridge, April 27

REEDSPORT – The closure of the Umpqua River Bridge scheduled for Wednesday night, April 1, has been postponed. It will be pushed back to Monday night, April 27, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. The six-hour closure of the U.S. 101 bridge in Reedsport will allow contractors to replace one of two damaged crossbeams. Another nighttime closure of the bridge is tentatively planned for Wednesday night, April 22. Emergency service providers will be given priority through the work zone during all closures. Meanwhile, U.S. 101 motorists can expect two weeks of daytime single-lane closures on the bridge as contractors repair other damaged sections of steel. The work will start Monday, April 6, and flaggers will provide traffic control. For more information, contact ODOT Public Information Officer Dan Latham at 541-817-5200 or Dan.Latham@odot.state.or.us.
