Quakes, May 4

A couple of small earthquakes shook the two fault lines that begin near Cape Mendocino in Northern California and proceed north along the South Oregon Coast Saturday morning. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 2.7-magnitude quake was recorded west of Trinidad, CA on the near fault line, and another 2.7-magnitude quake was recorded on the outer fault lines west of Petrolia, CA. Early Sunday morning, a 3.4-magnitude quake shook the southern junction west of Petrolia, CA. And, a 2.6-magnitude quake followed in the same area west of Petrolia, CA also on Sunday.
