Quakes, May 18

A 2.5-magnitude earthquake shook the southern end of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast early Sunday morning, May 17. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located west to northwest of Petrolia, CA near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. Early Monday morning, May 18, a 5.5-magnitude quake was recorded near the outer fault line in the Pacific Ocean. According to the USGS the quake was located west of Ferndale, CA at a depth of six-miles.
