MEDFORD, Ore. – Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) has signed a concessionaire contract with Rogue Jet Boat Adventures to operate jet boat tours out of the west side of TouVelle State Recreation Site. “We’re excited for the partnership and the opportunity to expand Rogue River recreation options for visitors,” said Nathan Seable, park manager. “OPRD is committed to protecting the river’s cultural, historic and natural resources, and Rogue Jet Boat Adventures shares that mission.” In addition to reiterating the agency’s conservation message, the company is required to operate at low speeds and sound volumes when within the park boundary, and to partner with OPRD on riparian restoration efforts. Rogue Jet Boat Adventures has been operating on the river for several years outside the park, but the new concessionaire agreement, which runs through September 2022, brings the operation inside the park boundary. The new location promises to improve boat congestion too. Rogue Jet Boat Adventures offers river tours seven days a week; visit their website—roguejetadventures.com—for more information. TouVelle State Recreation Site charges a $5 day-use parking fee. Learn more about the park on the state parks website: stateparks.oregon.gov. Other concessionaire agreements in the region include the historic Wolf Creek Inn, and Lost Creek Lake & Marina at Joseph Stewart State Recreation Area.
