(Douglas County, Ore.) Douglas County Parks Department announced they will temporarily close the Yellow Creek boat ramp outside Sutherlin, Oregon from Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26, 2020. The Parks Department will be completing much needed repairs to the boat ramp that will not allow public use during this period of time. The boat ramp area will be closed while the repairs are completed, and there will be heavy equipment and construction crews on-site. The upper area of the park will remain open for public use, but we are asking the public to exercise caution and maintain a safe distance from the construction zone, if visiting the area. The Yellow Creek boat ramp is located along the Umpqua River, near Milepost 12 on Oregon Hwy 138 about 12 miles West of Sutherlin. The site features a boat ramp and parking area along the Umpqua River, with benches for scenic viewing and a memorial marker.
