Curry Co. COVID-19, Oct. 12

10/09/2020 – Curry County Public Health (CCPH) was notified of 5 new cases of COVID-19 at noon Friday. The notification of these cases came through the official medical record system provided by the Oregon Health Authority. These cases were health care workers from the same long term memory care facility in Curry County where two patients had positive results yesterday. These current cases have been verified and confirmed by the Health Officer through lab results. Three of the individuals who tested positive are from Curry County while two are from Del Norte County. Del Norte County Public Health has been notified and these cases will be referred by back down to Del Norte, California. CCPH reached out to the care facility involved and have notified them of the positive Covid-19 results by their health care works in that division. These individuals have been contacted and have been informed to isolate and monitor any symptoms. CCPH is conducting contact tracing of these cases and will reach out to anyone suspected of exposure to COVID-19. CCPH has reached out to first responders who may have or have to respond for medical issues at that location. As of October 9th, 2020, the total verified number of positive cases for Curry County residents is currently 38, with 29 recovered cases, 9 active cases, zero hospitalizations and zero deaths. Please remember, it is important that we all follow the OHA and CDC guidelines and Governor’s directives about social distancing, wearing facial coverings in public buildings and protecting yourselves by staying home to slow the spread and save lives. Public Health will continue to keep the public informed with all the information we can in order to keep our citizens safe.
