ODFW Commission meets online, Jan. 15

SALEM, Ore.—The Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet online via Zoom on Friday, Jan. 15.
See the meeting agenda online at https://www.dfw.state.or.us/agency/commission/minutes/21/01_Jan/index.asp The meeting will be livestreamed over ODFW’s YouTube Channel, which can be viewed from this page, https://www.dfw.state.or.us/agency/commission/minutes/ To testify online for one of the agenda items, fill out the online form below no later than 48 hours before the meeting begins (so by Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 8 a.m.) https://odfw.wufoo.com/forms/commission-meeting-witness-registration/ Comments about agenda items can also be emailed to odfw.commission@state.or.us The Commission will be asked to: Approve Conservation & Recreation Advisory Committee’s recommendations to fund projects from the Conservation & Recreation Fund, including a beaver survey in central coast estuaries, a study of Western pond turtle distribution in Yamhill County using community science volunteers, and a series of projects connecting Oregon’s youth with outdoor recreation opportunities. Amend rules to update existing food fish species market values that will be used to access damages resulting from commercial fishing violations. Adopt a Non-Native Gamefish Management Policy. This policy provides direction on the management of non-native game fish to ensure the Department’s actions to establish, maintain, enhance, or constrain non-native game species are consistent both with the conservation of native fish and wildlife and providing quality recreational fisheries. Commissioners will also hold a public forum for people to comment on topics not on the agenda.
