OCCI Continues Valentine Tradition, Jan. 28

SWOCC release – Coos Bay, OR – Learn to make a complete Valentine’s Day meal for two, virtually of course! Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Oregon Coast Culinary Institute is excited to be offering this community cooking class to help elevate your Valentine’s Day celebrating. Class will be conducted live using Zoom from 11 am to 2 pm on February 6, 2021. Proceeds on ingredient boxes will benefit the OCCI Culinary Team. With the support from these fundraisers, they continue to be an award-winning team. Their most recent accomplishment being the ACF National Student Team of the Year in August 2019 when they brought home a beautiful gold trophy. Class includes an optional ingredients box that participants pick-up at OCCI the day before class, from 3 to 5 pm. You have the option to attend just the demonstration without purchasing an ingredients box. We have a no-contact procedure for pickup, face coverings are required. VALENTINE’S MEAL MENU: APPETIZER: Roasted Butternut Squash with Seared Dover Scallop; Apple Fennel Slaw & Pickled Mustard Seed; ENTRÉE: Sautéed Beef Tournedos with Wild Mushroom Sauce; Loaded Duchess Potatoes, Glazed Root Vegetable, Cheese Fritter; DESSERT: The Chocolate Strawberry; Strawberry Mousse with Chocolate Paté; Champagne Sauce & Strawberry Sorbet.
