On Sunday, January 31, 2021 at approximately 7:50 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle crash on Hwy 226 near mile post 8. Preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota Camry, operated by Sara James (61) of Stayton, was westbound when it struck a tree in the road. James was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
