LED Streetlight Upgrade Work Continues, May 7

City of Coos Bay release – Christenson Electric, Inc. has completed the LED streetlight upgrades along the Highway 101 corridors and has begun work on Ocean Blvd. and Newmark Avenue. Christenson Electric will also be completing streetlight upgrades on Coos River Highway west of Coos River, Koos Bay Blvd., 10th St., Commercial Avenue and Anderson Avenue over the next two days, May 6th and 7th. In order to mitigate traffic, work will take place at night between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. There will be intermittent lane and shoulder closures as well as flagging operations as necessary. Please use caution in the construction zones. You can find a link to view an interactive map showing the location of scheduled streetlight work on the front page of the city’s website. Construction will continue for the next several months and is scheduled to conclude in early August 2021.
