Marshfield’s boys lost 51-47 at Siuslaw Thursday in District 4 prep basketball. The Pirates (1-1, 2-2) are tied for second. Junction City takes over first place with a 56-46 win at Marist Catholic. Marshfield’s girls beat Siuslaw 45-13. The Lady Pirates (1-1, 1-3) are tied for third with Marist Catholic. JC & Cottage Grove are tied for first after the Tigers beat Spartans 43-41 and the Lions downed the Falcons 68-11. Myrtle Pt. plays at North Bend Friday in a prep doubleheader with the varsity girls at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity boys. Marshfield’s basketball teams are scheduled to host Marist Catholic Saturday with the JV boys at noon, Main Gym, JV girls 1:30 p.m., West Gym, Varsity boys 1:30 p.m., Main Gym, Varsity girls 3 p.m., Main Gym, and JV2 boys, 4:15 p.m., West Gym. The varsity games will be broadcast live on FM 105.1, KMHS.
