A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued a 60-year old paragliders on the North Oregon Coast Thursday, June 24. According to reports, the paraglider was riding the coastal winds at Cape Lookout State Park when he crashed into a tree 50-feet up, and over a 200-foot cliff. Search and rescue teams could not reach him and the USCG helicopter from Astoria was called in to safety remove him from the tree. He was taken to a nearby beach and checked my medical personnel before being released.
