CHM Free Second Saturday & Explorer’s Club, Aug. 13

The Coos History Museum will be open to the public for FREE on the Second Saturday, August 14th, 2021 all day from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Children and families are especially welcome and encouraged to join us for Explorer’s Club from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM for a fun educational activity. This month’s Explorer’s Club was inspired by the August First Tuesday Talk by Brent Bischoff, titled “Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative: Electrifying the Rural Frontier”. Children will have the opportunity to learn a little bit about how electricity works, how different things in Coos history relate to electricity, and create their own light up card. Join us in-person, or if you prefer, grab a take-home kit at the museum or visit us online on the day of to participate at home: cooshistory.org/2nd-saturdays. All in-person and take-home kits will be available while supplies last with preference given to in-person attendees. Established in 1891, The Coos County Historical Society is an Oregon 501(c)3 not for profit organization and the 2nd oldest historical society in the State.
