Private lands within Coos Mountain Access Area reopened to public use, Sept. 23

ODFW release – CHARLESTON, Ore – Private lands within the Coos Mountain Access Area (CMAA) reopened to public use since the risk of fire danger was lowered to Industrial Fire Protection Level 1. Bureau of Land Management lands within the CMAA continue to remain open. For a map of the CMAA that delineates private and public land, click here. The CMAA is about 56,000 acres in size and is in the central part of the Tioga Wildlife Management Unit. CMAA is part of ODFW’s Access and Habitat Program, and incentive-based program to improve public hunting access and wildlife habitat on private lands in Oregon. The program was created by the Oregon Legislature in 1993.
