Storming the Capitol, Dec. 10

A Bandon male wasn’t the only Oregon Coast resident to participate in the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Forty-six year old Jeffrey William Hubbard, of Lincoln City, was identified off surveillance video climbing through a window of the Capitol next to the Senate wing door and chanting “Stop the Steal” and “We Want Trump.” Hubbard was arrested at his home Wednesday, Dec. 8, and appeared in U.S. District Court, Portland, that afternoon. He’s accused of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capital building, parading or demonstrating in a Capitol Building. He is the fifth person from Oregon and one of nearly 675 to face federal charges following the insurrection. Hubbard was released pending trial.
